We got up and knew it was going to be a hot day. We'll see how the engine holds up. After discussing all the options, we decided to head straight for Toronto, the kids are anxious to see Uncle Daniel. Today is going to be a driving day.
The highlight of the day for the kids was when Owen, who has been doing most of the driving was getting tired. It was hot and he was starting to get sleepy. We were getting close to Sault Ste. Marie. He realized that if he wanted to swim in Lake Superior his chances were getting slim. He pulled over to the side of the road. The kids got out and they went to look at the lake. The next thing I know the kids are screaming "Mom! Mom! Dad is taking his clothes off and going swimming!" The girls were squealing. I looked out in time to see Owen dive in the water. Olivia will tell you all about it. She says her dad went swimming without anything on but Owen will remind her that he was wearing his sandals.
Jack has a fever so he's been out of it. I hope it will pass soon and no one else catches whatever he has. I'm worried about ear infections because he did go swimming the night before.
We stopped around 11:30 at a tourist information center in Blind River.

So let me get this straight - Owen was just trying to splash his face and was being thoughtful and not creating a whole mess of clothes to dry...
Sleep is always good and an extra few nights with a real shower and an extra day to play might be more fun than a $1000 ferry ride anyway... How long is the ferry trip by the way - we have booked passage on the Northern Adventure traveling from Prince Rupert to Pt Hardy - takes 15 hours and costs about $1000 too. Neat thing was, Leslee just noticed that there is a %10 Discount for that ferry if you have BCAA - so I sent them an email and they gave us a refund for the discount - that was unexpected - but very nice.
I bet Mike wishes he could have joined you.
Sandals HUH!!!?
