We'll after we woke up and ate breakfast at Hell's Gate, we decided it wasn't really the place to stay. We drove through Cache Creek and Kamloops and then on to Revelstoke where you always see the signs for the Revelstoke Dam but you don't always take the turn off to to because you are on your way somewhere.
We'll we took the opportunity to stop and stretch our legs. I remember my dad taking us there and walking with hard hats and checking out the turbines. For safety reasons they don't to that anymore but you got to go to the top of the dam and look down and learn some interesting facts. It took approximately 243,755 cement trucks to build the dam. There were a whole bunch of cool hands on stuff for the kids to try. We stayed for about one hour and a half. Then headed on our way.
We drove and drove, saw some road kill and mountain goats. We saw trains and went through tunnels. We drove into Calgary after being on empty for about 15 minutes, so we filled up right away at the first gas station. We decided to carry on through Calgary and stopped on the side of the road somewhere near Drumheller, we aren't sure where, it was late and we were tired.

I guess I'm a geek, but I love the Revelstoke dam. Big toys for big boys. One of my disapointments about the trip Heather and I took to Brazil a couple of years ago is that we didn't get to visit the Itapu dam just up river from the Iguacu Falls.
